Miranda Leigh's father died recently, and she's had a major financial avalanche fall on her as a result. She's responsible for settling his estate (which will require expensive lawyers, even though her father had a net negative wealth due to medical bills), paying for his funeral, and other costs... on top of her living costs, such as rent, food, etc.
