Per Kris's statement: The one place you're gauranteed not to find a Werewolf is at a Costumer's Con. While it may at first seem lilke a natural venue for them to meet, not one single Costumer would be fooled by a zipper glued to a Werewolf's skin; they know costumes; and they know when it isn't a costume, too.

IRL, I've seen very good Werewolf costumes: the type that take three hours to be built into when you include the facial appliance and the action cables. They are very good, yes; but you would be able to spot a real Werewolf among them at a fifty feet of distance, easily. If it were possible to actually have the use of a portable holographic projector and the original of the image was a real Werewolf, you could spot that, too.

Real just can't be faked, no matter how you try.

No, a lycanthrope cosplaying as a lycanthrope with a zipper glued on is more like a human committing suicide-by-cop.

Or had you neglected just how many cameras there are at conventions, and how ten kazillion people want photos of even the crappy costumes, never mind the really good ones?

And, again, it's a rare (or tiny) con that doesn't have at least one lycanthrope involved. Partly they get involved to protect the Secret, but mostly werewolves, etc. are more likely to Get Involved in stuff than humans.

(Lycanthropes are disproportionately involved in political parties and movements, too. By and large they're not the ones in charge, though there are exceptions- like, for example, the handful of lycanthropes in Congress.)
