Sir Marrok just made a mistake. It isn't what they did last seven summers ago...it's what will happen to Marrok when his ex- or her new squeeze- gets him alone someplace.

Considering the times, Marrok sould scratch out "They put a curse on me! They turned me into a wolf!" and get away with it...provided Arthur can read.
Literacy wasn't a big deal back then, especially for the nobility. They had people for that.

It might be problematic for the King's hunting dog to eff up guests though. I imagine Morrock might have gotten into a bit of trouble doing such a thing. Even if no one saw it they probably wouldn't have a great deal of trouble putting two and two together. Despite the living conditions being humiliating they are probably preferential to the ancient version of putting a dog to sleep.
