What I figure is going on is this (although it does not conform to the answer that Nero gave):
That werewolf hunter is quite young. it was made clear that Peter would have been his first kill. it was also discussed that while werewolf hunting and killing was more common in previous years (centuries?), it was not now as common. Note that the older hunter was trying to STOP the young one from killing Peter. I'm thinking that what Nero is trying to do here is to educate this young hunter that killing is not the exciting and thrilling accomplishment that he thinks it is. By killing this woman/wolf in cold blood, he's driving home what killing means.
