Oh well, like I said, it's about time Jean got some. Certainly nothing wrong with them maintaining a, shall we say, friendly relationship. Too bad Sarah doesn't strike me as the "open relationship" type.

Okay. This comic has weird fluidity sometimes but it's still way easier to understand than Wapsi Square.

As for the adult page, I like how Jean seems to be reaching for something, anything to steady herself.

The only scene more interesting then Peter and Jean would be if Sarah or Butch got involved. Though I think because of the time each page takes to come out having more then 3 would just make everything go far to slowly.

Wahoo! I've been a fan of Peter is the Wolf pretty much from the beginning but seeing the recent conversations on the forums encouraged me to actually say something. Plus I wanted to add my vote for the "About Time!" poll.

First of all: Kris, thank you very much for getting the update up! I saw you mention in another thread you were having Internet problems but I'm glad we got to see the new page. I hope you can get everything worked out okay (as a side note, I hope you're actually getting some sleep now that AnimeFest is over)

Actually concerning the story, I've been really impressed with both Kris and Ben's work so far and it's good this arc hasn't been an exception. I thought the build up to the point where the story is now was handled very well. Jean's interaction with the pack earlier on reminded me of the scene way back when they were all discussing what to do about Sarah being a werewolf. It's great how those scenes are done in that they can address a serious situation while simultaneously including lighthearted moments so the mood doesn't become overly oppressive. I think a big reason this works so well is because it really uses the character's personalities to do so. Granted, Peter and Sarah's...enthusiastic time together certainly helped the first time around, but here it was just good to see the different personalities of the characters bouncing off each other again.

Now as for how this is turning out-I'm kind of unsure where this is going. So far I really like how Gus's side of the story is turning out, I've always thought you guys did a great job with thought sequences like this particularly because it's a great way to exposit on a character or on the plot while still being very entertaining. Although the page is down at the time of this posting I can still remember Ben did a fantastic job with the character's expressions and it was highly entertaining to see fictional Sarah. Sequences like this also give a good insight into the characters, we knew Rebecca wasn't really thinking things through when part of her plan was to bribe Jean with a pony and this new arc lets us see how Gus thinks too.

But like I said before, I am unsure about how this is going concerning the Jean/Peter storyline. I have to think there's more to it than just what's been presented but what really surprises me is how fast it seems to be moving. We went from Jean's proposition to Peter being nose-deep in her with nary a word from him. Now I do really think Peter needed someone to do something to help him bounce back (so to speak) and Jean is the best choice from a story perspective because of her past relationship with him. However on the other side of this someone really needs to help Sarah too and I really don't see how this is going to get around to that. Well, I can think of one way that I've seen other people on the boards suggest but while Jean might be that...open minded I don't get the impression that Sarah is so for story's sake that idea might be best left to the imagination (or fanart!).

In any case, I really am excited to see how this turns out-and not just for that reason either. I just don't want to see the pacing become too fast (you guys have actually done a great job of keeping the story moving pretty consistently so far, so I think moving to fast is more of a worry than moving too slow). Because of the impact the last arc had on Peter, Sarah and Rebecca it should be treated with the appropriate amount of gravitas and have some kind of lasting impact. I guess once we learn what Jean's actually planning we can only speculate about what she's going to do.

If I can gush about Ben's artwork for a bit like I said before one of the best parts of Peter is the Wolf's artwork is the characters being so expressive. Your anime-influenced style is very well-suited for that kind of work. By and large it's used to great comedic effect (since I didn't mention it back then, the last panel of pg. 198 is just awesome) but you can use faces to express how a character feels very well in general.

Also, Jean's looked... *ahem* very nice for the past couple of pages. I've always liked the shifted forms of PITW on both sides of the fence and I like the pose work in the latest page. Among other things you did the transition from Jean looking sultry to clearly enjoying herself with her "Whoo!" face very well.

Now I do always try to be critical as well but first let me qualify this statement by saying that goodness you've consistently done settings where they're important. One of the big problems I've seen in other comics is that they see professional work use background-less scenes and copy the technique without understanding how to use it. Peter is the Wolf, on the other hand, has always done a great job of using the settings to establish the character but not overcrowding panels that don't need it. My issue is with the textures used in the art. The ones for wood-grain and leaves are fine but the one for car windows, the ground and Jean's pants might be too similar. I noticed this only when scrolling past the clean page because it seemed like I was looking art the ground through the car windows. That's really a minor nit-pick though, so I don't know if it even matters enough to address.

Speaking of the artwork I was really surprised to hear how many entire sketchbooks have been filled of just Peter is the Wolf work. I'm impressed that so much work goes into making the comic. I have to ask, though-that can't all just be the comic pages, can it? I mean, I'm sure a lot of that has to be related to character design or other aspects that go on behind the scenes, right? I think that kind of sketch collection would be a really cool thing to see.

On a completely unrelated note, I try to catch most of the references you guys make (Peter is the Wolf has the best sound effects ever, I still remember SPIELBERG! and now we have MCFLY!) but I saw from TVtropes the nod to "Repo: The Genetic Opera" and I haven't seen it yet. Is it worth checking out?

Thanks a lot to both of you guys for working on Peter is the Wolf. I think you guys have done an excellent job so far and I'm really looking forward to seeing where the comic goes in the future!
