I went to Conglomeration, a small sci-fi convention in Louisville.

Whoever set up the spacing of the art on this week's panel did good. As you scroll down the page, the joke just plays itself out. Almost as good as animation.
For some reason, Dr. Abe reminds me of Hawkeye from M.A.S.H....perhaps because of the delivery of the lines.
Like I said before, Fell off my chair, then ROTFL!
Good stuff!

And then, after the kids have left, Dr. Abe pulls off his mask to reveal that he's really Dr. Papi! Who will no doubt think he's failed again when Sarah wolfs out....

The layout was 100% Ben. My own thought, which I didn't write into the script, was to begin with an ultra-closeup of Dr. Abe's kitsune face- sort of a Sarah-eye-view of the doctor spooking her.

Brains do not have a "Chewey Caramel center". They have a Chewey Toffee center!
Both Bar-1 and Kris are notorious for hiding either visusal or written gags in these hallow'd pages.
Like the obvious Chibifying of Sarah in the middle and bottom panel...

And according to "Dobbsian Phrenology" they also have centers for Slack and Stang....

Dobbs of course, being a reference to J.R. "Bob" Dobbs, leader of the .
