I was struggling with this one for weeks. I couldn't figure out how to make even one viewpoint interesting, never mind three at one time.

And then, today, when I sat down yet again (while waiting for auto service- oil change and tire rotation) expecting nothing, I started writing the scene with Con Nero as viewpoint character, and everything clicked.

It also came out a lot darker than I'd originally planned, but this works.

I quite liked the post, I just read it. But I just wanted to point out, I think "bemused" might not mean what you think it means, or if you're aware of its definition, I'm a bit confused as to why that was Nero's reaction at that point.

Fair enough. I'm used to the former definition so I guess that caught me off guard, but it makes a lot more sense when that's explained.
