And there's the true tragedy of the story.
Silly crap resumes next week (if the page is ready in time).
HTML will be posted when I get time after I get home from AnimeFEST, which probably means the next regular update.

In other words Weres are their own worst enemy.

Wait so what happened to Tamamo-No-Mae's body? I thought the whole turning to stone bit was a lie the hunter made up to hide what really happened to her.

SNAPE: Now before we begin, I'm going to give you all your very very first pop quiz! Can anyone tell me what a portkey is? Oh yes, Ms. Granger!
HERMIONE: A portkey is an enchanted object that when touched would transport the one or ones who touch it to anywhere on the globe decided upon by the enchanter.
SNAPE: Very good! Now can anyone tell me what foreshadowing is? Yes, Ms. Granger.
HERMIONE: Foreshadowing is a dramatic device in which an important plot point is mentioned early in the story to return later in a more significant way.
SNAPE: Perfect!
HERMIONE: Professor, what is the point of this quiz?
SNAPE: Oh no, no, no point in particular. Just important information that everyone should know! Especially you! [points to audience]

"Dumped" wouldn't exactly be his style. Too much danger leaving a corpse unattended, so he likely took it somewhere to be cremated.

As to why the body was disposed of... it's common (mistaken) knowledge that kitsune are foxes who take human shape, rather than vice versa. Tamamo no moe's body was unmistakably a human body, and thus nothing but trouble, even back then. Even the Imperial court might have objected... or at least failed to pay the balance of the hunters' fee.

Since the hunters knew to cut the tail off before it disappeared, they must be used to telling bullshit stories by now. I wonder just how many "stone kitsunes" they've made?

And like I pointed to in an older thread- do you wonder where they learned that?
Likewise, why is Japan the only place where the legend of a Nine-Tailed Fox exists.
And all hunters tend to, if time and happenstance permit, cremate a zoanthrope corpse. Remember, up to the early victorian age, fresh, or preserved corpses, were used in medicines. Mummia & other such derivative folk remedies. Even without the benefit of modern disease theory, they'd have known such a corpse held a peculiar taint, and must be dealt with specially. Even if their local culture proscribed against burning a body, or even touching a corpse at all.

That's because most people think women dressed up in revealing silk outfits are sexy. The same can't be said for muscular, hulking, hairy women*. Plus, it's a lot cheaper to buy an outfit (or fake fangs) than create a CG werewolf or realistic werewolf costume.
*This doesn't conform to/subverts Western ideals of feminine beauty; read Hairy, thuggish women, female werewolves, gender and the hoped-for monster by Elizabeth M. Clark for an excellent treatise on this.
