So very tired from the past week on the road... but I did manage to get script done up to a MASSIVE milestone in the story!

But you'll have to wait a while for that. In the meantime, here's Jean pouring it on Sarah...

Please, lets not forget that Jean also tried to seduce Peter back in the tool shed and Peter DID say no. As previously stated, Jean has a plan in progress, so let see where this train is going before we derail it.

Jean's got a long term plan that involves a long term romance between Sarah and Peter. I read this correctly, she's going on the cliche "absence makes the heart grow fonder" bit. The split's temporary, but it will enable Sarah to focus more on her training and the upcoming Howl.

Since Sarah seems to be integrating more with her alter form better, this ought to be very interesting to watch her behavior at the Howl.

I think Jean's just beating up on Sarah...to make sure she realizes how big she screwed up. Reverse Psychology is good for a reason...What she's doing is guilting Sarah, so she realizes she's made the wrong choice. Maybe it'll work...or it'll make Sarah curl up into a little ball. At the least, it's broken through Sarah's preconceptions.

Here's what I like about it. All the complaints about Sarah? The characters know it, and are willing to hit them, and bring them all up! That's why I like this comic, why I trust it, and why I continue reading it. You guys listen to the fans.

I'm sorry, but I cannot help but seeing Jean as a sneaky, soap-opera villain bitch, because her supposed efforts to get Peter and Sarah to reconcile are just being so shady. Let me count the ways I saw. She first tried seducing Peter by offering herself to him in such an in-your-face way, right after he had been almost raped, which was about the most retarded thing I have ever seen in this comic (and that's saying a lot considering the pack's habit of being retarded), but Peter turned her down because he wants to make things right with Sarah.

So Jean says she's gonna help reconcile these two, but what have we seen her doing so far? First she insisted on the sex bit immediately after Peter had already said no. Next, when together at the gym, Jean called it "test of the emergency cocktease system", but I call it "blatant attempt at seduction". Notice Peter said "you promised you'd back off until tonight", so that, coupled with her comments and behavior during that sequence, just scream at me that she's still trying to seduce Peter in hopes of keeping him for herself, and Peter's being too much of a wuss to go tell her to go fuck herself with a baseball bat and leave him be.

And now she's cleared up the mess by explaining what happened, fine. But where did this whole thing about Peter not being her teacher anymore come from? The Pack decided? Why did that happen offscreen, if it even actually happened? Anyway, brushing that aside, Jean's pretty much stating that she'll likely be Sarah's next teacher and that Peter now won't live with Sarah anymore. Convenient how that sounds like Peter now stays closer to Jean back home and away from Sarah here. Plus she seems to be putting a lot of energy on hammering the "you misunderstood" point on Sarah, when Sarah already understood it right from the get-go. She obviously already got the message, why does Jean just keep yammering on about it? That makes it look like she's kicking Sarah while she's down.

Then there's the whole "since you dumped Peter, you need a new teacher", and "packing Peter's stuff, cause he obviously doesn't need to stay because you dumped him". Why is she putting extra emphasis on the whole dumping thing? That just makes it sound all the more like she's trying to make sure it's official that Peter and Sarah are not together anymore. It definitely doesn't sound like a reconciliation plan to me. And yet again we get it all coupled with Peter being a complete silent wuss, just sitting there, staring at empty space, doing nothing, saying nothing, letting Jean run her smartass, never-shuts-up, big-ass loud mouth, when it's him and Sarah who should be talking about this. What in the world happened with the backbone he grew when he turned down Jean?

I don't know, but whatever happens in the upcoming pages, it had better be golden to wash away the horrid taste this page left in my mouth. Bleh.

People keep forgetting that Jean is still essentially a selfish, hedonistic, carefree teenager who thinks she's figured out everything in life. When has she EVER admitted she was wrong exhibited any real pathos over her actions? Of course she's unlikeable in many respects.

I think any story that gets readers so into it to provoke these kind of reactions is doing a good job.

Kris has mentioned in the past that Jean wasn't a pure or innocent character, and I do think it's good that's coming into play. Happygun made a good summation. Completely opposite of Rembrant this doesn't upset me at all but makes me more interested in the story. It would be too clean and to easy a solution if they just explained things to Sarah and then everything was okay. It fits with Jean's character to still be after Peter's massive..."baseball bat." After all, we are talking about the girl who went into orgasmic hallucinations just thinking about having sex with Peter.

Speaking of Peter, I do agree that it seems like he's just along for the ride at this point. But even that's not without precedent, Peter's always been fairly submissive in nature (all his testosterone went to one place). I imagine he's worried about saying the wrong thing and making the situation worse, so it's not really out of character for him to be quiet. However, I do hope we get to hear what he's thinking; if he does still care about Sarah I can't imagine him just quietly standing by while she's guilt-tripped. Sarah does seem practically on the verge of crying here, unless Peter is more upset by the events then he's let on I'd expect him to try and comfort her.

Now I don't want to make judgments before this plays out but Jean being Sarah's new teacher is an interesting idea-Jean could do things Peter can't, like stopping her from transforming in the girl's room (at least you'd think Peter wouldn't be there to do it...) and might relate to her better with some issues. Although setting this angle up does carry the implication that Peter and Sarah won't be together again by the end of this arc. That would change the relationship structure of the story leaving Peter single with at least three girls after him (Butch, Jean, Sarah-not to mention Jean's mom and his grandmother and maybe even the other girls from the were-group).

All and all, still really interested to see how things develop from here. I do hope everyone sticks with the story no matter what relationships they want to see played out, I think so far Ben and Kris are doing a good job. And besides-that's what fanfiction is for!

My take on Jean is that she's trying to help Peter and Sarah, while trying to get something out of it for her. I think she honestly does want to smooth things over between Peter and Sarah - but she does certainly have a selfish streak to her and I certainly don't doubt that she'd be perfectly OK with being Peter's safety net if things don't pan out between the two of them.

There is always the possibility that jean is giving sarah false information to incite a reaction out of her akin to "but i dont want peter to move out!" or "i cant learn under anyone else except peter". shes crafty, yes, manipulative, seems that way, but i have a feeling that its all about using sarah's guilt and feelings for peter in a, i hate to say it, manipulative way.

sometimes manipulating someone is the way to get them to realize they were wrong.

well, maybe manipulate is too strong a word, think of it as verification. she states facts already stated back to either A) ensure there right, or B) have the target realize that they are infact, not right and need to be reevaluated.


btw, im totally calling it here and now if i turn out to be right.
