I think for Butch to go near Peter is probably a Very Bad Idea right now. But I think she's willing to take whatever punishment Sarah is doling out, so helping Peter might be in there. Trying to do a bit of good before Sarah passes judgement. Considering that Gus's punishments of her for acting up seemed to be instant violence (she mouthed off and he snatched her up right quick), she might feel that she deserves to be punished anyways. If not for assaulting Peter, perhaps for being too weak to follow through. And if Sarah doesn't, Gus will.
Of course, that's not to say Gus wouldn't anyways... I still have high hopes for Butch. I mean, she's obviously not as biased as Gus is, but I think her actions towards Peter are more of a case of nurture vs nature. She's been taught that strength is all that matters, and has pursued him as such. She doesn't want to force herself on him, not completely, anyways, so it seems nature may have won over nurture, but I think she's more than a little lost right now. Gus could reassert his hold over her and lock it tight, or someone else could step in and possibly help her save herself.
The thing I dread is Gus showing up right now and saving Butch himself... because then he'd have something he can hold over her and the group. A sort of 'You know what she did, I know what she did, and if the pack finds out what she did, even I won't be able to protect her', and drive a wedge between the group. What's more, Butch would have to toe the line or Gus could 'accidentally' let something slip, and more. And at that point, there'd be no escape. And he could hold it over the other three's heads because surely they don't want to see Butch dead... or for the pack to know Sarah almost killed one of their members.
What I'm hoping for is at least a pleasant resolution. I'd like to see Butch manage to make it to the thing her boss-lady signed her up for.
