Why not tell Arthur?

Hey everyone. Big fan of the comic.
I did have one question to ask - despite Arthur Hazen being a conspiracy theory nut who feels like he needs to get down to the bottom of every trifling matter, why doesn't the pack just tell him what's happened to Sarah?
Granted, it would be Arthur's natural urge to blab it to every living soul he saw, but he could also be informed as he learns about his daughter that there are pack members in both the local media and local law enforcement, thus it would very, very easy to make him "disappear" if the need arose.
