"Somewhere between an Urban Myth...." That thrall wouldn't have to be all that
powerful; just insane and violent enough to
kill half a Pack; one at a time, maybe. That would be one
vicious thrall, and said thrall then escaped. And it happened a "couple of decades ago."
Hmmmm.... Wonder where that thrall
went?
It appears that this pack played it smart; by starting a business together, they serviced their Wolf instincts while providing an income for their Human side.
The visitor is right: Sarah doesn't need more pressure right now, she needs acceptance and support to "grow into" her new self. She is probably being ostracized by the locals, if they even know about her. A Wolf will try to gain attention when attempting to find a Pack, and since Sarah's "wolf" is made up of instincts, that may be why we're seeing so much of her (besides Fanservice, that is
).
Edit: I wonder, would Sarah's
mother be approachable about her daughter's "indelicate" condition? I suspect that she knows a lot of things that her husband is still in the dark about.
Good chapter ending, Kris. You have us wondering about what Jack's going to do now; and a Bar-1 Omake will make for a great intermission!
