maybe he is a bad guy and maybe he's not, from the three frames he is in total we cant really get very much info other than that he wasn't too surprised at seeing a werewolf, perhaps he is in on the secret or maybe he is a lycanthrope himself, though yes i am inclined to believe he is in cahoots with the group who is always trying to catch Peter with the "butterfly nets"

He's a red herring. Mainly the example of what we can get away with when it comes to you readers when we only do one page a week. Those three panels were followed by 6 days of wild speculating, only to have no payoff whatsoever.

Then again, that's the point when it comes to the Peter-verse. The legends are continuously let down, cut off at the knees, and shown to be disappointing exaggerations.

To be fair, it was my idea.

And it's not -quite- the Andy Kaufman sense of humor. We don't do the "persistently unfunny asshole" gag.

The humor in this was that it was, above all, unexpected. Surprise is a large part of what's funny and what isn't- surprise, plus the sudden release of tension.

And Mr. Newspaper will never, ever, EVER be seen again in PitW. He was very much a red herring indeed, and as such by all means continue to speculate about him. }:-{D
