Factor in, at this point, our cast was pretty long in the tooth. They'd outlived the reign of two kings. Henry II (1154–1189) And Richard Lionheart's ten-years in chief (1189 - 1199) and then John "Soft-Sword" (1199 - 1216).
Little is discussed of his age at this time, but it may have been anywhere from his forties to his seventies!
Hygiene being what it was at the time, even a zoanthrope's healing factor would be hard-pressed in that environment, and on the wane by the time the group was back from the crusades.
