Folks, when you register, don't put a spam-filled URL in your profile.
Try to avoid having an email address from a domain which leads to another spam-filled URL.
Otherwise, when I check it, I will kick your ass OUT.
It's bad enough I've given up the Web Glob in favor of LiveJournal because of thirty spam comments PER DAY on average. I'm NOT going to let it happen here. I hope I can prevent it ever STARTING here.
So goodbye to richbinh, who never posted a message but doubtless got all our info from the memberlist.
Also, I'm considering banning xjscott05 and jtfoe1974. While not having spam sites per se, the lack of coherent content on the URLs they list, plus their lack of posting so far, makes me suspicious of them.
This is another reason why I worry about the half of the registered members who haven't even posted one message yet...

Paranoid much?
I'm kidding of course... I know what it's like fighting against spam. You just gotta take it one URL at a time...

And goodbye and bannage to Cepelin, whose web-based Poland email address just returned "no such person" in response to a private message demanding the removal of spam from his sigfile.
Also edit a warning to Kephren. Sorry, dude, but your web-based email is full and bouncing. You've registered for adult access, but without a working email you're in danger of getting the heave-ho.

And the big heave-ho to sweetjosefa. Is your spam site for sports betting or ringtones? Make up your mind- but not on MY boards!

politealbiston and softpryor just got deleted.
Discouragingly, bans are not having any effect. I'm getting spambots in from the same IP domains I've banned...

Can't you ban the whole IP block? I seem to remember that option from the two weeks I ran a phpBB board.

Most of the spambots' spam URLs come from IP 70.87.88.*. Even after banning all domains from that IP group, we're still getting spambots from there.
Today's winners are bravesells and ablesue-joe.

After a period with no spambots, I find I must go to work and delete Gillian Dench. Hint: .info domain pages will not be looked upon favorably.
Also had to follow the rules and delete, but not ban, jibakuma. No emails, no posts, no PMs... no account, now. If he wants back, he can re-register.

Oh, Trisha, I had such high hopes for you... but the URL in your profile is a spam site, so you are *BZZT* DELETED!
And banned, too.
