Got a Kickstarter you think people should hear about here? Give the link and explain what it is!



Marc Gunn (available in our WLPSound.com store) also runs the Renaissance Festival Music Podcast. This year they're hoping to raise $600 in the next 6 days to send regular host Matt Ledder to Texas for the Sherwood Forest Faire to record new (that is, non Minnesota based) interviews and news. They have some pretty nice packages for support, including stickers, CDs, T-Shirts, huge .zip files fulla music, and the chance to co-host an episode.

(Just thinking.. that $4,999 one for a 3-hour live episode recorded at the RenFest of your choice... maybe WLP should do something like that... host a party at the Convention of your choice, with freebies galore and a podcast recording...)

I've given it thought, but there are two obstacles. First, I haven't any video equipment; second, I was under the impression that Kickstarter was allergic to anything remotely associated with porn. Get around those two things and hell yes I'd be using Kickstarter a LOT.

Also, to be honest WLP's been on constant, perpetual Kickstarter since 2003 at least.

Most recent thing I've donated to on Kickstarter:

Basically, Reaper's set to do wave 2 of their ready-to-paint plastic line, and looking for funding. They're doing the BIG stuff, too. Full-size dragon minis that'll be dirt cheap. It's 20 days to go, and it's into the stretch goals now - I'm putting in at the "Vampire" level, which means 1 of each fig in the new series, and a ton of additional figs. They're also brewing 12 custom colors as well, and tons of other stuff.

As for WLP, or at least, Me, I was thinking on, after YoumaCon this year, starting a Kickstarter to fund a replacement computer. Last time we raised funds for a comp for me, folks, it was 2005... my new comp hasn't collapsed, but it's not what it once was... I still can't handle a 600 dpi image comfortably.
