Regarding the "Mental Issues", last night the Nooze reported that Cho had been sent to a "Facility" by the School Police, and had been released when he had claimed he wasn't "suicidal".
He had then been sent to outpatient treatment-and hadn't gone, obviously.
Now, unless there's something the Nooze hasn't told us yet, he should have been comitted for at least a 72-hour hold. Apparently he wasn't. (Again, my source it the Nooze...and they are not all that accurate; especially the Television Nooze.)
Problem is: if he was a real Sociopath ( apparently he wasn't) he could have fooled most people, including the overworked staff at the Mental unit.
What I'm wondering about, is why he was allowed on-campus after being dropped from at least two classes for basically frightening other students.
There was apparently a failure on somebody's part to follow-up on this guy: he presented as a Classic Paranoid in an extremis of delusional fantasy, at least in what has been said on TeeVee.
I wonder at that: The Nooze has a habit of stringing things out for more advertising time availability...fact and need be damned: we have to sell Autos and Denture adhesive here.
There is something wrong at that College, either from a Security issue or from a Communications effort. The place should have been in Lockdown or Deserted after the first reports of shootings, and it wasn't.
Obviously (Nooze) there was a hang up with the Police somewhere: it can take time to assemble a S.W.A.T. team, but where were the other Police-if just to make sure that there was a real problem and not a Hoax.
The College communications system wasn't very effective, either- Sending an E-Mail? Please!
Other than that, there hasn't been enough clear (non-hyped or non-coerced) evidence on television yet. I got the best info on the BBC channel.
Let's wait until there is more clear, non-theatre, information...
