In order to supplement our income and support creators we think are cool, White Lightning Production buys books and graphic novels for resale. We don't keep an item in stock unless we believe it's cool!
Indy Comics, Webcomic Collections (and related merchandise)
If you'd like to sell us your books, here's the rules we follow:
No saddle-staple comics; squarebound paperbacks or hardcovers ONLY. Sorry, but it's nearly impossible to sell traditional comics anymore unless they're from one of the big old-school companies.
No print-on-demand titles. Sorry, but the cost of print-on-demand books leaves little to know margin for wholesale discounts.
A minimum discount of 40% off MSRP is required; sorry, but anything less and we just can't afford to take it to conventions, and convention sales are 3/4 of our total income! Even 40% is low, and we'll be reluctant to stock up on anything for less than a 50% discount unless we really, really really like your material.
Domestic shipping only, please. Sorry, but we can't afford the additional expense and headache of having stuff shipped to us from outside the United States.
We only expand our stock when there's surplus money in the bank. However, when we add something, we add EVERYTHING we can get of it. Also, once we commit to a product line, we'll gladly place advance orders for future volumes (unless we drop the line).
Finally, though we do stock text-only novels, we're biased towards graphic novels and comic collections, and those will have a higher priority when we make decisions on picking up new books.
